Florida Burglars call police to help them move objects from house they were stealing from

The incident happened in Poinciana, FL. Two people were arrested after one of them called the police to help them move objects from the house they were burglarizing.

Police say they responded to a 911 call that was made on Saturday. When the call was made nobody spoke, but police decided to check it out anyway. They arrived and found the door was unlocked. After looking around they found a male suspect and his girlfriend.

Police questioned them and found that the woman called 911 so they could give them a helping hand to move “their belongings” out of the house. They even asked the police if they could be given a car ride to the airport after they helped, so they could spend the weekend in New York.

Police say they have been coincidentally looking for the male suspect after identifying him from a security video as a burglar at a Dollar General store in Poinciana, Florida, where several items were reported to have been stolen earlier that day.

The sheriff’s office said in a Facebook post:

Deputies DID help them with their belongings, and DID give them a ride, but it wasn’t to the airport … it was to the Polk Pokey. And they are welcome to stay there all weekend long. The Polk Pokey is much better than New York anyway.

According to the police the male suspect was charged with burglary and theft related to the store he burglarized earlier, and also charged with burglary of a residence. The female suspect was charged with burglary of a residence.
