Three Historically Black Colleges have received death threats, and 2 have completely shutdown/cancelled classes for the day following the death of Charlie Kirk.
Alabama State University is currently on Lockdown following threats to the students and all activities have been suspended, with staff and students being instructed to remain indoors until further notice.
Virginia University is also on lockdown and has cancelled all classes, all employees were instructed to work from home. Students were advised to stay home if they aren’t already on campus, or indoors and monitor their emails.
Hampton University has enhanced all security measures and cancelled all scheduled campus events, classes have been cancelled for both Thursday (9/11) and Friday (9/12).
All three universities are currently working with police to take control of the situation and are prioritizing their students’ safety.

My name is Bree, and I never thought I’d be in a place where I’d have to write something like this. I’m 26 years old, and right now, I’m doing my best to stay strong — but I’m falling behind on rent, and I’m scared of losing my place in a city with no family.
The last few months have been a rollercoaster. Between unexpected bills, rising living costs, and trying to keep up basic everyday life, I’ve found myself slipping further behind no matter how hard I try. This isn’t just about a roof over my head. This is about stability, peace, and the small bit of hope I’ve been holding onto. My home is where I’ve been rebuilding myself — emotionally and mentally — after a few tough years. It’s where I’ve learned to find calm in chaos.
I’m asking for help to cover past-due rent and a bit of breathing room to get back on track. Anything, truly anything, helps — even sharing this means the world.
