Black Femininity

from $30.00

This piece was born when I was scrolling Pinterest (as usual) and I happened upon this photo of a white moth with transparent wings. The idea of using the moth as a tie immediately sprung to mind. Then the rest came in like a flood; I wanted her to have really rich dark skin, and a lacy dress surrounded by more moths. I am really proud at how it came out and it is definitely my favorite piece I have made so far.

I decided to call this piece Black Femininity because I loved how soft and pretty she looks but that does not belie her strength. And I feel like it is also a response to the criticism that Black Women get of “being too masculine.”

The print comes in a rigid envelope in clear sleeve sandwiched between pieces of cardboard to ensure safe arrival. It is perfect wall decoration for your home or office. Great addition to your desk or bedroom side table. Perfect gift for your fashionista friends.
