Review by a Cozy Specialist (February 2021): Published in 1976, Coal is Audre Lorde’s first published book. It’s a collection of poetry that explores her identities as a Black woman, mother, poet, and lesbian. Available in three scents, this candle represents her many layers and her ability to own and love them while encouraging other women to do the same.
