This excellent work on Ifa was written by James Kulevich, a Babalawo of Chicago trained in the Cuban Lucumi tradition, but who has embraced the African roots of Ifa with no less enthusiasm and commitment. The book is based on this own experience of the Cuban System of Ifa and many years of research on rare and otherwise inaccessible texts hundreds of which have been in circulation in Cuba for a very long time.
The great value of this work lies in its synthesis and presentation of so many verses of Ifa largely from the Cuban tradition but in English and Yoruba in a readable and concise manner. Each story of Ifa is accompanied by suggested sacrifices. When added together, the test becomes a rich and invaluable compendium of knowledge.
