This is one of my favorite photos because of the sheer amount of effort it took to capture. I had to kneel in the dirt at an awkward angle – I was so nervous I’d crush the neighboring flowers behind me! – and try to block out the harsh midday light shining down on the field.
I’d originally went to D.C. to capture the cherry blossoms, but sometimes things don’t quite go as planned; and I love this image all the more for it.
Captured April 2020. Comes in digital file options of 5×7, 8×10, and 11×14.
