Vendor Biography

Ever since I was a kid, I’ve always been creative. I remember learning origami and teaching my classmates how to make items and gifts I saw on Youtube. Then I learned how to crochet from my aunt who is a skilled crafter. As a kid, I always figured out how to turn a quick hobby into a passion and even sell a few items.

Some years went by and now I’m an adult working a full time job and 2020 hit and like a lot of Americans we were stuck in the house. I got tired of my daily routine of working , binge watching Netflix , cooking dinner and sleeping; so I scrolled through social media and someone embroidering and I thought ‘hm I use to crochet, I bet I can embroider’. I watched 3 YouTube videos on basic stitches and then created a Black Women Matter jean jacket that went viral on social media and that was the start of my business. Also, I’m a die hard Laker fan and created a Kobe Laker jacket and really saw an opportunity for custom items.

Soon a family member told me about Cricut and my creative senses went crazy. I purchased my machine around the holidays, again watched a couple of videos and thought of things to sell and I first started with HBCU items, since I graduated from Hampton University. Then I thought of mug sets and family time and also ornaments and my business took off.

A full year now and I’m still learning something new each and every day. A lot of people with businesses don’t talk about the hardships and trials that they faced, but no matter what keep the faith because I’ll be your next customer if needed to be 🙂
