Vendor Biography

As the second oldest kid in a family of 6, I had to look for a way to make myself stand out not only in my own home but in the outside world as it continued surrounding me with new people and ideas constantly. Sharing everything was just something we did and sharing a part of myself became difficult as it seemed I could potentially lose myself in the grey line between what was mine and mine alone and everyone else’s. Art for me has always been about having my own path that I could walk and explore on my own without it been taken from me. In my various pieces, I try my best to incorporate a different piece of myself. It started out as the proverbial “escape” from the everyday life I didn’t enjoy and became a personal challenge to better myself in skill and internal love and acceptance. My work can go from showcasing my own personal interests or sharing my findings in my never-ending journey for reflection in my family’s cultural history. It’s up to me to decide what I truly want, and I believe that’s the most refreshing part about being an artist.

An opportunity like this would expose me to an entirely different creative setting and allow me to grow as I learn from the more seasoned individuals in my field. A large part of my life thus far has been an urge to push my own set boundaries in the face of the challenges I’m found juggling with to prevent myself from becoming comfortable. If possible, I want to be able to better my skills in an isolated setting like this and become well versed in my love of learning.
