Darbs By Design, originally Darbs Designs inc, initially began on July 5, 2020, on Instagram and RedBubble. As an ex-art student in the middle of quarantine, Covid, police brutality, and numerous protests, I was continually inspired to create art and products that would not only document what was going on in the world, but also how I felt as a young, African American woman in today’s social climate. The business started with paintings that amplify the greatness and the beauty I see within our community. Eventually, face masks were added to the list to help combat and protect us from Covid until the vaccine was made available to everyone.
As an artist, I enjoy expanding and practicing several different art forms, hence the recent introduction of jewelry to the shop. It’s something that I enjoyed doing in high school and just wanted to share with you all. This business is going to continue to grow as I grow as an artist and a businesswoman, so be prepared to see the variety of art and pieces I create for you grow. I have so much to share with you all through this business and just know that everything here is made with love.
